smelly suri feces

LeeMatthew Aug 27, 2007 11:32 PM

I have a beautiful suriname that has been in my possesion for 3 years. I am just wondering if it normal for this type of boa to have extra sour smelling feces. In the time I have had her she has not grown at all.She is just over 5 feet and I am lucky to get her to eat twice a month. Is the small growth rate and the smelly feces connected? This is my first and only suriname so I don't have anything to compare to. Any comments?

Well if no one else will answer your questions, feeding twice a month is fine for a snake that size and all S*#t stinks. Do you have other boas to compare to?

You refer to your boa as a "her". Are you sure it's a female and not a male? Males tend to be smaller but not always. What size feeder are you giving it? I would think there would be some more noticable growth with your B.c.c. I have a male that is a conservative feeder and a female that eats anything offered.

I still think poo stinks though. Any pictures?

I have A male salmon that is around 4feet and a female jim peters pastel thats around 71/2 feet.I have dealt with several columbians in the past, but this suriname boa can be way stinkier. I kind of wonder if it is a small bacterial infection or somthing, but I can definitly tell when the suri's cage is dirty before even looking at it.I don't know how normal that is. (I try to put a picture a well)
