HERALD-ARGUS (LaPorte, Indiana) 18 August 07 What’s that on the fence? Squirrel? Bird? No, iguana
La Porte: Imagine La Portean Margaret Lambert’s surprise when she found a lizard crawling on her fence.
According to a La Porte City Police report, Lambert called police around 3 p.m. Friday after she discovered a “bearded dragon” on her fence in the 1200 block of Sixth Street.
When officers arrived, sure enough, the green iguana was crawling on a roof.
Although the police report did not state how long the iguana was, according to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park Web site, that type of iguana is 13 to 24 inches long.
Police were able to corral the reptile and keep it at bay while officers attempted to locate the owner.
Attempts were futile, however; police said they discovered what they believe to be the iguana’s cage in a house that is on the market.
Lambert told police she would care for the lizard while police try to locate its owners.

I hope they don't let her care for it.
If she thought it was a bearded dragon, she obviously doesn't have a clue about reptiles and probably wouldn't have any idea of how to properly care for it.
