Trimorph observed at Christmas Mtns

Where did you spot that trimorph. That is currently my main target since I've never seen one. I'd love to find one on or near my Luna Vista property, so I'm hoping you say north hill!

Hey Daryl, we saw it at the first big hill after turning right out of the Wildhorse. I guess you would call it the first big cut, it was at the crest of the hill right in the middle of the road. Pretty cool to see! I felt honored.

Thanks for the info. I know another seen in that general area (perhaps the same snake). Did you think "alterna!" before realizing it was a trimorph? For some, that would be a disappointment. As a non-collector who has never seen one, I'd MUCH rather see a trimorph.

All we both said is "that looks interesting" and sure enuf it was. It is the 2nd Tri I have seen there. Last one was in 05'Same snake?"who knows"?
We took a couple of photos and watched it slither West over the embankment.

Hey Daryl, I can't believe you haven't seen one of these guys yet. But they are rarer than alternas. On the road, they can definitely make you think you have an alterna till you get out and take a close look. I haven't found one on top of the north hill, but I have seen them on either side of it. Once at the Ammett Lake Rd, and another time where I was camping (back when you could!) off the County road on the NW side of the hill. They are very cool snakes and I love seeing them occasionally here in southern AZ where I live also. --Henry W.
