I have heard 3-5 feet but read on Melissa Kaplans site that Kingsnakes depending upon the species can reach 7 feet in length. This is my Ca King he/she is named Lucky and only just over 2 months old.

I have a male California King that is going on 12 years old now and he is nearly 5 feet in length. I would say that is the norm. I have heard of lengthier ones, but never over 6 feet. It also depends on their genetics. Has anyone heard of a Caliking over 6 feet? Let us know if so.
Hope this helps,

3-5 Feet is probably typical for a Cal King. The Eastern King is the largest of the genus, which is probably where the 7-foot reference comes from. (Published record in Conant/Collins is 82 inches for the Eastern King. Don't know what the record is for Cal Kings. Anyone?)

I have seen a 6'6" Male 50/50 Cal King that was about 10 years old. He was feeding on medium rats. I don't know if this is the biggest one ever, but to me it was HUGE. The norm for a Cal king as far as I know is 3.5-5 feet, and they are usually only able to take down a small adult rat.
