Heat Rocks?

addny000 Aug 28, 2007 08:44 PM

I'm experienced with caring for snakes and I know that heat rocks are bad for them cuz they can get bad burns, But in alot of pictures of beardie tanks I see some heat rocks. Are heat rocks OK for them? If they are ok how much does one cost?

i would never use a heat rock on anything. they are unsafe. the wiring in them is not very good which causes the heat to get too high or too low. stick with the lamp ull be glad u did.

Dragons need to get their heat from above. They have very little sense of temperature from below. So heat pads and heat rocks shouldn't be used. You are better off putting in a regular rock and then warming it with an overhead lamp.
