Size cage for a boa?

tsusnakeguy Aug 28, 2007 09:40 PM

So what would be the best size cages for adult female redtails? I want to know what is the minimum cage size since I have multiple large redtails and will be getting more with time. I appreciate any advice.
Thanks

I use a 4x2x2 cage for my female, she is 5.5 foot now. If she reaches 7 foot then I will upgrade her ta a 6x2x2. Hope this helps...

Rule of thumb for minimum cage size: 1/2 as long as the snake, 1/4 as wide as the snake is long, 1/4 as high as the snake is long, or floor area equal to a cage that size. A 3x2 foot cage is acceptable for a boa up to 6 feet long. Bigger than the minimum is nice if you can do it.
