tease-feeders question

fliptop Aug 29, 2007 07:08 AM

First off, I'm shocked at how well tease-feeding works (four of my five holdouts took to it--just one non-feeder left!) It's funny how complete disinterest in a deli cup with a pinky for twenty minutes can be remedied by simply holding the pinky?!

So: For those that have had to tease-feed, how many feedings did it take before the teasing was no longer necessary? I realize every case will be different, but a general idea would be helpful.

Thanks!

Not sure if this is the norm, but since it was always easiest to feed mine f/t, most of mine had to be teased for months before they would just grab the food item. Are you using live or f/t?

Thanks, BillyBoy,

I'm using f/t. Months?! I don't mind; it's cool watching them eat.

Yep, months. Interesting side note, I never really bothered to feed them live, but when my boa recently gave birth, I sometimes found myself with some leftover live fuzzies on feeding days. When I tossed them in with the (now yearling) yellows, they scarfed them right up and even constricted them, which is something they never did with the f/t.
