My 6 were born the first weekend in August. The have all shed. But I can't get any of them to eat a scented pinky. I have been using f/t extra small pinkies. I have rubbed them down good to add the scent, I have let them thaw in a small deli cup with a toad inside. Still nothing. I am not wanting to feed them toads. Any suggestions?

I have found that bait and switch works the best with converting easterns. And tree frogs seem to work better with the babies. I use forceps, and hold the pink in one and the tree frog in the other. Kinda sandwich them together with the treefrog on top. Let them smell the tree frog and really catch the scent. When they open up, remove the frog really quick so all they get is a mouth full of pink. After doing this a few weeks, you should then be able to just scent. Eventually they will eat unscented. Good luck.

if you didnt want to feed em toads- why did you get an eastern-
(i know some people will disagree- but you really should have em on an amphibian diet- and i dont even want to debate it)

This snake was given to me for use in an educational program. It was originally taken in as a rescue from a serpentarium in my state. The eggs came with her. Hope that answers your question.
