"Ruppel Pastel"?

JoshMolone Aug 29, 2007 09:02 PM

This Ball python was sold to me as "Ruppel" Pastel. Is there any way to really tell the diif from Ruppel and just normal Pastel?
Ive heard the "Ruppel" line has a very "Washed Out" head pattern. Is this true? My so called "Ruppel" Pastel has a very Washed out head....

Here he is solo..

Ruppel Pastels are more than just a faded head................they are some of the most washed out Pastels on the market.......and if you have seen his Super Pastel female then you knwo the power of the gene in his pastels!

They are top notch.

Is there a price diff with normal Pastel and Rupples?

SPJ01 Aug 30, 2007 08:07 AM

Ruppel pastels cost more than typical pastels.
Yours looks like a typical pastel. Whoever sold it to you saying it was Stans line was full of chit.
I hope you didn't pay any extra for this one because you did not get what you paid for.

I would love to get one of Stan's pastels. Does anyone know how to contact him? website?

stanruppel Aug 30, 2007 08:21 PM

Give me a call at 414.525.1595 9-9 CST.......I have 4 that just hatched earlier this month.....I am selling them for $250 males, $750 females, $1000/pair shipped.......thanks to all for the kind words on this post, I'D LIKE TO TAKE THE CREDIT BUT THE FACT IS, I JUST GOT LUCKY! (IE, THE GENETICS THAT THESE ANIMALS ARE BLESSED WITH HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BREEDER, OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT WE CREATIVELY ARRANGE BREEDING PARTNERS!)

No Rich it`s one of his original stonewash pastels.

bristen Aug 30, 2007 10:21 AM

The Ruppel pastels almost look like a granite x pastel cross... when you breed them, do ALL pastels look like the one you have Jared? Or do some look more like a normal pastel? Just curious...

Regards,
Bristen.

All Ruppel line pastels have that look.
They are also called stonewash pastels.
They have a very distinct look to them.

I`ve only produced one clutch from my Ruppel "SW" male. I bred him to a Ruppel normal type female pastel. The results were 1.1 SW pastel, 1.1 normal type pastel and two very cool female supers. This was back in 05 and he hasn`t sired a clutch since.

here are two hatchlings from last year. We have eggs incubating for Pewter at the moment, but lost two last week with another going bad today! Odds are we may not get a Pewter, but if we do we'll post it.

Looks nothing like the Ruppel pastels I've seen, that looks entirely like a normal average pastel. I think you need to contact the person that sold it to you and ask for some verification of lineage...
