This question im sure is asked alot on the forum but what should i do about de worming a tortoise? when do i do it? whats the easiest way of doing it but gets the job done? thanks champ!!!

This question im sure is asked alot on the forum but what should i do about de worming a tortoise? when do i do it? whats the easiest way of doing it but gets the job done? thanks champ!!!
have a vet do a test on a fresh fecal sample (they will
probably require you to bring the tortoise in also the
first time) and they'll determine if/what type of worms
to deworm for. No sense guessing and worming for the
wrong type of wormer and still having problems. Usually
they will give you panacur which is a white paste that
can be put on their favorite food a few times and
then they recheck the poop a few weeks later to see if they're
cleared up. That's if they have any at all. Whole process
shouldn't be too much $ which is part of owning any animal.
Don't wait long because some that have worms will deteriorate
very quickly and even die if not deworm asap. Generally you
should visit the vet with a new animal within a week of getting
it. PS don't try to deworm him yourself with any over the
counter mess, you might kill him (ex. ivermectin will kill
reptiles and is a common horse/dog dewormer)
