color phases

depending on a couple things (if i can sell my columbian, and prices available), i might be trying for a new BRB soon. BUT i had something specific in mind that you don't see much of. i want to try to find a male that's so dark he's almost purple.

example: bryan hummel's national zoo line female

i already emailed bryan to see if he has any offspring from her this year but he doesn't. so i was wondering if any of you folks on here either have or know of someone who has any offspring from a pair like this. also if you do know of any what kind of price i would be looking at.

any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
ChAsE

P.S.: Bryan, hope you don't mind me using your pic as an example.

I have actually been working to get away from this very dark look, But It is likely that my Zoo friend who produced this pictured animal still has some breeders from this bloodline. I actually lost this female at 13 years old. I had her paired up with the JM Lamar Daddy to clean up her coloration and she died during ovulation a few months ago (she was SOOOO fat that she would have had a record litter). I was quite sad to loose my first Brazilian? rainbowboa. I do like the iridescence from this very dark earthy red color phase (She sometimes looked almost black all over, and the darker animals have more iridescence IMO).

sorry to hear about that bryan, i didn't know you lost her. i really like that ultra dark coloration. i saw a yearling come through my local pet shop like that a few months ago, but they wanted like $275.00 for her. i'm not paying that for anything from their shop. anyways, i guess no one else knows any breeders with the ultra dark phase like that.
