during the night??? lights on?

daniel4 Aug 20, 2003 08:57 PM

I dont know a whole lot about nocturnal animals so i was wondering if it will bother Kiran (my gecko) if i have the lights on in my room at night..I spend alot of time in my room with the lights on so maybe should i move the cage to a darker spot in the house?...He's still a youngin' and when i have the lights on he hides in the cave a lot....i really dont want to sit in the dark...

It would be a good idea to keep it dark at least for a little while he/she will probably get used to it after a while, my leos will come out if I forget to turn of the light in my room but my young male is still very shy and he will hide if it is left on for very long, on the other hand I have an older female whowill actuallly come out and investigate when I walk in and when I try and feed the male in the other tank she will come out and stand up on her hind legs and her belly against the glass even if I have the bright flourescent ceiling lights on so I can count the mealworms.
