any luck in texas

centraltexsnake Aug 30, 2007 02:51 PM

I was just wondering if any one has had good luck in texas this year? I know I have seen more snakes this year than any year before. I am in bell county, have seen several western diamondbacks, both live and dor, 1 coral snake my first ever,a couple of coachwhips 2 prarie kings 1 bullsnake 1 copperhead, 3diamondbacked watersnakes more texas rats than I can count along with several snakes that dissapeared from the road before I could identify. I was wanting to ask if anyone knows any good areas for speckled kings? I have only ever seen 1 in my area and that was several years ago. I finaly am in a position now where I can pursue my hobby more often and would like to see some differant species than im used to, I am very interested in south texas I will be planing on going down there some weekend soon to find some nice roads to cruiz. just in case anyone is wondering I dont keep any of the snakes I find. Would like to start taking some pictures so I can keep better records of what I have found and where. I have been interested in reptiles my whole life and used to post on kingsnake as WESSS, So happy herping to everyone I wish you all the best of luck!!
