texas laws...now?

As I understand it, under the new laws, animals on the White list can no longer be collected, but captive bred can be sold if you have a vendors permit($60.00) from TP&WD?

White list animals can be collected. You may want to go to TPWD website and do a search for "white list." The regs are there.

Animals on this list are the only ones allowed for collection after sept.1 2007,if you are involved commercially: sale, barter, trade or progeny for sale, barter, trade. You must possess both a hunting license and the nongame permit. A possession limit of 6 per species is allowed if involved noncommercially.
Texas is seeking to grandfather existing collections for resident holders of nonlisted taxa such as box turtles-for breeding purposes. Plans have already been drawn up for a commercial breeders permit and program.
Out of state residents should be made aware that removal of animals from Texas without proper permits and documentation, for commercial purposes, could result in federal Lacey Act charges due to newfound awareness by law enforcement and thier ever-growing monitoring of commercial sites and forums.
Hope the info helps.

So, if I have the Nongame dealer permit (#549) can I or can I not sell my cb box turtles and western hognose as they are both on the white listed posted on TPWD website ? http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/faq/huntwild/nongame_permits.phtml

It all seems so confusing.

Box Turtles are NOT on the white list. So you can NOT sell them.
Additionally, you can only have 6 of them for personal use.
Western Hogs are ON the white list, so you CAN sell them.

and I agree it is confusing. After reading some new material on the site I can't make sense of it all. It appears they did not do exactly what they said. I'll stick with "I have no clue".

I too am lost. The "white list " currently on the TPWD website does list ornate, three-toed and eastern box turtles. Is that list not current?

you are correct! That list was for 2006-2007 ending aug 31st 2007.

As it stands Joe is correct in the below post. If TPWD does in fact allow for breeder permits for box turtles, map turtles, etc, within a short time we should be able to sell cb box turtles under that permit. The good thing is that TPWD has provided for grandfathering of current taxa that has gone off the list that was in your possession prior to Sept.1. This would give you the opportunity to keep your broodstock and babies until a permit is developed for you to be able to sell the offspring. They will begin sending out info and I'll post it as I get it. I currently have a few 3-toe box turtles I also wish to breed.
