Help with locale

jazzmachine Aug 31, 2007 08:44 AM

Well I just picked up this pair of babies over the weekend. Brought in as Puerto Rican's, I saw the invoice for them. Just wondering if anybody out there can confirm that this is what they are, or if they are something else perhaps. Thanks for any and all info provided.

I don't think so. I think it's a Nic.

Puerto Rican boas are an entirely different species (Epicrates inornatus) and are endangered, so no, those are not Puerto Rican. They are definitely of Central American origin and look to be Nicaraguan.

Nice looking little buggers! Good luck with them!

I'd almost trade an albino for that second animal. Almost.

Do you know if there is any exacting locale information for that phase?

My cousin has a male of that phase. I have 1.1 of mine and will be pairing them up this season.

Its some of the better quality stuff brought in from Zoocriadero CR.If you bought yours from Barnett its all the same lot.I believe Ernie set that deal up(imported) and Kevin peddled'em out.(something to that effect)Those two animals will be a purchase opportunity that I will always regret having to pass on

That's the chain of events. I did get the pair from Kevin.
The only female he was selling of the phase.

not puerto rican, they're Epicrates.
Looks like a Nic

sonny07 Aug 31, 2007 01:27 PM

yours looks like an el salvador boa, here's a pic of my Son's,what do you think?

Ophidia_Junkie Sep 01, 2007 03:04 PM

Although I agree it has some strong Nicaraguan traits, I don't think there are but a couple BCI locales that are so consistent in their phenotype that you can say with 100% accuracy, "That's an [insert country] locality"

Definitely BCI though. If I had to guess, I'd say it looks much like many Nic's I've seen and the one I owned. But it's still only a stab in the dark.
