My parents neighbors sent this picture to them via e-mail, a day after they found this snake in their backyard. Mom, in turn called me and of course I flew right over with the thought that I had about 30 hours between the spotting and the hunting.
The neighbors backyard is a friggin botanical garden. Their daughter ( a hottie by the way) noticed the cat was freaked out about something so she went ouot for a peek, saw the snake, grabbed the cat and ran in the house. At least she didnt call some testosterone laden dude to come out and chop it's head off. Couldve been worse.
So, I just spent a little while at the house crawling around the backyard, under the house and under their deck looking for it in the 90* weather, figuring it'll be easier to find if it's locked down by the heat. No luck, but they have my cell phone number now and will call me immediately next time they see it.
Not the worst picture I've seen so far given the situation, but still a bit difficult to ID since I dont run in the milk snake circles. It's obviously an amelanistic, but is it a Ruthven's or maybe a Nelson's?
