Need more help... please

neon11 May 22, 2003 06:45 AM

It has now been 3 days since my new baby gecko has eaten.I have seen him come out at night, drink water and have a bathroom stop but not poop but a little dark color wet spot. I put a cricket in front of him and all he does is slowly blink and turn his head like he is tired or bored. If anybody has any help for me please give me something to try. He also has not shed yet.
Thank you.

I'd like to help - but need a few more details.

How old is the gecko? Your hatchling? Temperatures - how much did it eat when it first fed, etc.

We'll try to help you out. If she's just a baby - sometimes they just don't thrive - but don't give up yet!!!

Mealworms . . . .you can't eat just one

I got him at a pet store and best guess is he is 6 weeks or maybe upto 8 weeks.I brought him home and he just chowed, eating a couple of worms and 3 crickets everyday for about a week. Then he only wanted crickets and was eating 3 of those a day for a couple more days. Now nothing for a few days.
I have 2 hides, humid box, water dish, calcium dish, mealworm dish.I have good temps,UTH, in a 10 gallon tank with backround on 3 sides even.I am just worried.

If it's only been a few days i would'nt worry to much. I have an old male gecko that goes of eating for weeks at a time during breeding season. He just doesn't want to eat. He gets really skinny and it scares me but then he just decides to eat one day and starts to fatten up. I would just keep giving him food and see how it goes.
