Platinum Hatchlings

PrehistoricPets Aug 31, 2007 09:01 PM

Here is one of the Platinums that we hatched out last week. These things are a really awesome morph. The color is too hard to capture, but she has a ton of pinkish lavender in the sides. Thanks for looking.

WOW just another snake I would have to sell my car or morgage my house to get. Hey how about you give me one and I'll raise it to be a great big beautiful snake and tell everyone how nice you are. Don't I wish this would work.

Your killing me Patrick! You guys need to open a store here in Fla! I will help with all the details! Big Jim

Beautiful looking snakes. No basement should be without one.

I envy you. I think that basement would be the perfect snake room. California doesn't really have basements, a major disappointment. Thanks for looking.

Ahhhhhh, basements...wouldn't have a home without one. Getting back to the platinums. Has Prehistoric Pets produced platinum tigers yet? If so, I sure would like to see an example of one of yours. I love mine to death and plan to get another one. I'm looking forward to seeing what the platinum supers look like.

Oops, I meant to post after the above:

I am a bit confused. Isn't the platinum/fire morph a co-dom gene? A platinum tiger is the visible het form both for the platinum and for the tiger gene. In other words two co-dom genes in the same snake.

Yeah, they are basically a double visible het for the homozygous forms ivory and super tiger.

Patrick's saying they intend to make something like Platty Tiger het-albino or Platty Tiger het-titanium...something to take the project a step further.

Just my interpretation.

I see, I was not looking at it that way. You are probably correct.

Jim

Kara is correct. I meant that we would ideally be breeding something with an Albino Tiger or some sort of Tiger plus recessive gene. Sorry for the confusion.

I'll see if I cannot extend my time off this week and come in on Tuesday. I'll be down in Lancaster tomorrow and Monday.
That would be SO cool if I could get over there
