First MBK/ Interesting Splendida Story

Geckofanatic23 Aug 31, 2007 11:14 PM

Well, I finally got my first MBK today, and already he is one of my favorites, now I see why everyone likes them so much. He's only a little guy, and is super mellow and an almost too eager feeder, lol. He slid right off where I was feeding him and fell onto the carpet, and continued to constrict the two pinks he had grabbed onto. He's just the neatest little guy, I already love him too much.

As for the Splendida story, my small female latched onto a live fuzzy, and instead of constricting, ended up dragging it into the water dish and holding it underwater by its back leg until it stopped moving. then she pulled it out and swallowed it. Interesting thing to watch, though I doubt it was intentional. I'll get pics up of my new little MBK buddy eventually!

MBKs are awesome snakes.
I love them.

My experience with getula is rather limited, but I think they are best getula for newcomers to the hobby, I think they are a better first snake than corns.

But they aren't just a good snake for newcomers, they are stunningly beautiful snakes for anyone.

I really like your chioce of snakes on your list. The only thing missing is a Florida king. They are different enough from what you already have to keep things diverse and well rounded.

*shamless plug*

above is an female anery florida king possible het for Peabino and Phantom.

I agree, they are awesome. Check my MBK pics. As a hatchling she had speckling just like a Splendida. I posted pics of her then and a huge debate started over wether or not some pure MBK's started out like this. The second pic shows her as solid black just like Frank Retes said would happen if pure MBK. The change has been breath taking and has happened just since this past March!!
