During the summer I always just left the porch light on and went out with a ziplock bag =) Usually there were hatchings about every other week so I could keep them well fed. During the winter time I am not sure though. I know silkworms become a moth eventually but I am not sure how long it takes / whether its worth it.
Just my 2 cents hope it helps!
