lone surviving clutch......

wisema2297 Sep 01, 2007 07:35 PM

I lost 3 clutches earlier this year to a faulty thermostate on my incubator. This 4th clutch was from the only female to produce viable double clutch eggs. Tha pairing was a lavender to a normal. I've never produced morphs before and as far as I know the female is normal het for nothing but this baby looks a little "purple" to me. May be wishful thinking but maybe the female is het lavender also..........

Thanks, I sure will!!

...This is only my 2nd year breeding, and I have only produced normals so far. I was amazed, both this year and last, how darned "purple" normal babies look at first. That starts to change with just a shed or two, and my yearlings are as orange as can be. Congrats on yours. Duffy

Gee, thanks for dashing my hopes!! Thanks, I was wondering if that was the case. I am just glad to have hatchlings.

well, you cant see much, but that one nose does look rather purple. All babies have a muted "haze" over them that makes their colors look dull. Once they shed that "hatchling" skin, the color is much more vibrant. Take a picture of the babies when they come out. And more pics after their first shed.
Good luck
