Need help deciding...Mex. or Southerns?

FL_Herps Sep 02, 2007 02:49 PM

Hey Guys,

I'm just looking for some opinions here...

I'm looking into either getting Mexican and/or Southern Hognose snakes, but I can't decide what to choose.
I'm aware that their habitat and feeding requirements are very different, but they are my two favorite.

Please tell me...if you had to choose one, which would it be, and why?

(If you have another species that you like significantly more than the two that I mentioned, I'd love to hear what it is as well.)

I would greatly appreciate any input you may have!

Thanks,
Alex

And I'd say it depends on what you're looking for in a snake. Southerns are smaller, a bit more colorful, but much pickier feeders (at least initially) than Mexicans. I really like the pattern and food drive ot the kennerlyi. I'd really be hard-pressed to choose which were my favorites. Mexicans are certainly much less expensive!
