Jake: Please look more closely at the head & the fact that the pattern fades out before it reaches the tail. That is most definitely a Coluber, not a Lampropeltis.

at first glance, based on the color and general pattern it would be easy to mistake it for an eastern milk. But the eye shape and long skinny tail and fading pattern would suggest a juvenile racer that has started it's color change.
