Florida Gator Fun

Our Tech guy and I made a few stops during our Daytona Trip this year. Along with the Chicago Herp Society and my rescue, we have relocated many an alligator over the years and 2 facilities we did so at were St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Gatorland. While there is a vast difference between the two locations, we have a lovely tour at both. At St. Augustine we saw 22 of the 23 species. At Gatorland we played with baby Nile Crocs. Thought you all might enjoy the videos.

Thanks for sharing. I will make it down there in 2010, when I take my girls to Disney....

I can not get my gators to eat the mazuri nuggets all the time so I stick a good handful into a cornish hen or whole chicken...

Again thanks for sharing,
Charles

It was a blast. If you are only able to visit one, I would strongly suggest St. Augustine. It is more zoo in nature. Plus it has FAR more species. I personally have fallen for the Salty now along with my beloved mugger. It was truly a wonderful and memorable trip. And it firmly put Crocodilians in the lead for my favorite herp. These are some amazingly beautiful creatures. Now if only they were smaller and legal. There would be MAJOR issues here.
