Ok I sold this guy once not knowing exactly what to call him. Now he's back. Top looks like a lava? But have black checks on the belly? A friend of mine has been MIA when I'm on duty at teh shop. I use to rely on his guruism to help me name these wierd corns I'd get in.

So I leave it up to your guys and gals.
Sorry not teh best of pic, and teh one on the ashphult I corrected the color to match cloer to what he looks like.
First pic was an attempt to get a close up of his eye. Not pink but looks orange

Amber? maybe a really nice hypo.... doesn't look like a lava to me. At least not the ones I have seen from Mr. Z

OK, I see the hypo from the top but how can it have so many checkers on the belly?

There is no stripe or motley gene apparent to me.... so why would the belly be affected? Sometimes the hypo gene will dull the checkers but that is the most of it.

OK, that is new to me. I was kind of going on the info given to me by Don S. on my crimson I bought as a bloodred. The belly on her was red, NO black at all. Thats one reason he said it was a hypo.

are the checkers muted or basically black.
If the checkers are muted and tend more towards grey/purple instead of black I would lean more towards hypo.
If they are balck and more defined I would say it is simply another example of the diversity in our "normal" corn snake.
It is kind of hard to tell from the pictures but to me the checkers do look more muted then nice sharp black.

My guess, opinion, thought...........hypo.

I have found myself saying this more and more lately7 and hope I'm not just seeing things but is there a yellowish wash over the snake?
Once again this is how it appears on my screen so I'm wondering if it may be a hypo het caramel.

Yes muted is a good word. But oh so very slightly. I thought with the size of the checks there was no way a hypo. To bad he is a he. I'd let my bloodred hook up.

Thanks
