Leo Food

jamster Sep 02, 2007 10:55 PM

ok, i'd like to know like..EVERYTHING...that leo's can eat. preferably, things that have wings, but are also small.

my leo still isnt even lookin at crickets, or meal worms, or waxworms. but, with some waxworms that are still hatching into moths, i decided to pull the wings off and put them infront of my leo, and he loved them. was slightly intruiged by them, nibbled it once or twice when gobbled it down (i only put 1 in) and about an hour later, a type of moth flew in the window so i caught it and pulled its wings off, and put it in front of my leo and he looked like he'd won the lottery and spent it all on drugs! :D it didnt even last a second. they're a type of flying insect, with long spindly legs, and have a very short life span, and only appear at night and are drawn to the light and most nights fly into my room. so i was wondering what are all the alternatives for leo's to eat. but they need to be bugs that are quite active (not worms).

i know there's:
brown and black crickets
meal worms
waxworms
phoenix worms (not available here though)
silk worms (again, another rarity)
and that's it....

they'd need to be suitable for a 3-5month old lookin gecko so any help is muchly appreciated ^^

is your leo sick? maybe you should look at it's overall health before you determine he's just a picky eater. a gecko that doesn't eat anything on your list is probably sick. you should get a fecal sample done. if you decide to i can give you a name of someone.

lets see...pinky mice if he's big enough, roaches, pheonix worms, earthworms, thats all i got. good luck!
