here is the pied black pastel produced by Gulf Coast Reptiles. This little girl is going to look awesome and by looking at her, the black ball pied is gonna rock. I hope everyone enjoys the pic.

next time we go over there I'll see if I can get a photo shoot going and get some updates of the brass balls, post-shed of the new super vanilla ghost, and hopefully they can hit on a very small clutch and produce another first (but they have more cooking and will hit that this year, but sooner is always better, lol). Also I'll try to get some pics of the axanthic black pastel for those that didn't get to see them in Daytona.

Interesting. I think a low-white pied would look better to show off the black pastel coloring and pattern. Congrats to GCR!

What the heck were they thinking when they made that ugly high white pied .....lol.....

Just kiddin.............it's a beaut!

I'm just saying that it will be nice to see a low-white version when they produce one because it will show off the black pastel pattern and color better. I don't understand the problem with that statement?

I don't like high-white pieds, I enjoy seeing the pattern and color on low-whites. That's just my personal preference.

First off that is one beuatiful Pied...But I was curious if it had a "Duck Bill"? It seems many of the Cinnamons and Black Pastels seem to have more of what I call "Duck Bill" or slightly deformed head...Which is very apperant in thier supers...I was just curious...Thanks for sharing the pic...and congrats!!

Are you saying the heterozygous versions (black pastels and cinnamons) sometimes have the narrow nose bridge and not just the homozygous versions (the supers)?

a Het verson...i.e. A Cinny or Black Pastel with the funky nose.....

this thing has a perfect head and I've never heard of or seen a black pastel or cinny that had a messed up nose. Yes the noses do appear to have a more narrow bridge on the supers but who cares. The snakes eat great, the breed great and look awesome. Outcrossing them tends to lessen the effect of the duck-bill and this is a very outcrossed animal that will produce some awesome black and white animals in the future. I know I can't wait to get one in our collection.

I agree. I like the supers, and if the the duck bill thing doesn't affect them eating, or cause them any problems, then I don't see why anyone cares. I will definately be producing supers (one day that is.) BTW. That pied black pastel ROCKS!

Words are hard. Amazing, smokin, awesome, beautiful, outrageous, incredible, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious . . . the list goes on and on.

Please tell Chris and Sheila at Gulf Coast Reptiles that we said congrats! Thanks for getting the pics up so soon Josh.

To me, visually, I think Pied is not very good in most combos. Actually, I think most Pied combos are really aweful. However, the dark earth-tones really contrast very well with the white and I think this combo really is breathtaking.

I think it is a beauty.. I can see why you said to bad it was 90%white, it would be interesting to see it about 50 or 60% white see more of the black pastel. Nice looking pied.
