They seem pretty slow, but if one really wanted to move how fast could it slither away?
Not too fast as far as in a straight-away. They seem to get under stuff or disappear into things like the couch or into the entertainment center alot more quickly than you would expect however. If you put one in an open space like on the 50 yeard line at a football stadium, they are not gonna get away that fast.
They are an ambush predator.

Yeah,it's the rats that go into overdrive mode!...It's as if they hear a starting gun if they hit the floor.

they are alot faster than you think.....they bite faster than any cobra and right up there with moct rattlers.....
stick one outside in the grass for awhile then give it a poke......you'll see how they run....
