How fast should a chuckwalla grow?

Sofia_c May 22, 2003 07:03 AM

Hi.
I just wonder how fast a baby chuckwalla should grow? On a completely vegetarian diet.
I've read on several places that people believe that they are completely vegetarian, just like the green iguana and shouldn't eat any insects at all, and that it is the stress in captivity that makes some chuckwallas eat them if offered. But I know some people that give their chuckwallas insects. What are your opinions?

And to my question, how fast do your chuckwalla babies grow? The babie I'm thinking of have grown very slowly, but I compare her to bearded dragons so... How big should they be when they are around 6 months old?

The picture is taken when she was just 6 weeks old, she's now around 4 months, I couldn't find a newer picture. Does anyone here have pictures of their chuckwallas at different ages?

Thank you for your input!

Best regards
Sofia

Notice the ages of the chucks and you can compare.
