shedding question

erica3487 Sep 03, 2007 07:10 PM

I have a surinam redtail boa that is about a year and a half old. About a week ago, her eyes and belly got that opaque look like she was going to shed. I put her in a shed box and kept the humidity above 90. Yesterday when i got home, her eyes had cleared up and her skin no longer looked milky, but there was no skin in the shed box with her. I talked to the guy at the local reptile store, and he told me to return her to her normal enclosure and put her back into the shed box after a few days. Does this sound like good advice? Can someone tell me what is going on with her?

they'll go cloudy and then clear up. it should shed in a couple days. it's not necessary to keep the humidity above 90. just keep it around 50's to 60's and it shed fine. i usually just mist them a couple times if i see they are going into shed.
