Hey Jose, welcome! You should go to Brownsville, to the Sabal Palms Audubon Sanctuary. There are many tropical birds there and speckled racers there at their northern most range. There are also some Texas Parks ans Wildlife Management areas down in Brownsville, and some public hunting lands that can be herped for photos only, no collecting. Try googling Sabal Palms or Speckled racer, it should bring you the address. Also there are many Texas inigo snakes in your area and tons of neat lizards as well. Good luck and post some pics!
