These have to be right up there. Of course my vast experiece with 3 northerns might not qualify as scientific evidence.

I would have to agree with ya!!

My northerns are always so calm and just love to chill out while being held.

You guys are killing me with these pics of your screamer Northerns. I can only imagine flipping some tin in the Jersey pine barrens and finding pines of this quality. Talk about dying and going to herping heaven. I have to agree about Northerns being very laid back and tolerant of handling.

Those are all beauties guys...just kills me that I can't have them in NC.

I have known some very calm northerns that would just sit in your hand, exactly like those. I've known some, like the one I currently own, that aren't biters or hissers, but still don't like to be held, they'll squirm until you put them down. Then I've known a few with an absolute bloodlust I think that's what I like so much about pits, more than any other snake I've worked with, they really, really have individual personalities from snake to snake, almost like a dog.

All I have to say is, that is one hell of a nice picture of a Northern.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lee,
It is a Northern Pine Snake.
Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks for the reply - Northerns aren't very popular out here on the West Coast - I don't know that I've ever seen one in person at a show, and all of the pics I've seen are of black and white snakes - never seen one with the orange coloration. Very cool looking.

If lead paint is so deadly why do they make it so delicious?
