DUH!!!!!

Gonna let him get to 2 1/2 years old before I breed him though, he's been raised nice and slow. Besides, I have plans this year for some of his future girlfriends. He and his brother Chester (damn near twins) are NOT corals, but there is just something going on there, so much color, even for a sunglow. Gonna breed them to my coral albino girls and see what pops out!!

rainbowsrus Sep 04, 2007 11:32 AM

Why you planning on.....waiting so long?? I figure since he's a male, should be good to go for the 08/09 season. He'd be 2 1/2 by then, prime age for a male.

that I would be making a couple of coral sunglows in that time lol You will be having lots of sunglows by the time I make mine but you always have your cake and eat it toolol I'm jealous. I just got a couple of double hets sunglows last week and I'm planning on a real red albino female next year from Tom but I'm gonna post pics real soon I fed them last week and the male is very very very fiesty that bastard- I guess little to no interaction will do that to you but I'm gonna teach his a-- to bite me oh yeah
Bob

rainbowsrus Sep 04, 2007 11:43 AM

Yeah, I thought you were implying getting one of his offspring.

Congrats and best of luck in your coral sunglow plans.

Funny but both of my male sunglows are feisty. I just ignore the hissing and pick them up anyways. They do settle down after a bit.

You're going to "teach his a-- to bite" you, sounds like he's already got that lesson down pat!!

a little photo shoot so I can get one or two decent pics of him but he had other plans like biting me two or three times rapidly so I had held him long enough to where he settled down and then put him back up. Let him recooperate and took him out with the snake hook for pics and that worked pretty good and then put him in my hand to return him and he was squirming like you wouldn't believe or would you lol but no strikes this time just trying to get away just like snakes should do I believe. I'm gonna try and put a little OT post together for my contribution to the forum
Bob

Did you bowl him for the pic shoot? Funny how they try to chase off the big bad predator.

Looking forward to your post!!!

No I kinda favor the outside pics more cuz I don't have great lighting indoors but outside is really really hot around here (prolly about 102ish with the index) and Dave do you find that the sun takes away the subtle reds and pinks so the shots are better in the shade? Reeses' shots looked great in the sun so I don't know how I can't do it but then again you're are the better photographer, better camera, better snakes better...... that's enough I may need some counseling before it's all said and done with
Bob

rainbowsrus Sep 04, 2007 03:57 PM

Yeah maybe so, but I'm not super impressed with Resses outdoor pics, two in sun and one in shade.....just did not capture his color very well at all. It's a tribute to Reeses that with as little of his true color showing up that the pics looked so good.

rainbowsrus Sep 04, 2007 12:59 AM

Unfortunately, she will NOT be in the 2008 plan. She started out slow, refusing meals and when eating, eating small meals only. Recently she has been ravenous and seems to be catching up but IMO will not be at appropriate size for a 2 1/2 year old to breed. Hoping the extra year will make all the difference.

Looking forward to your secret.....

Yikes! I think Daisy has some competition! Too bad she isn't a male and you could breed the two togother. I think you might end up getting an actual orange out of that breeding though!
