This summer my room has been very hot. A couple weeks ago an AC guy came and installed a second vent into my room and dropped the temps substantially. My heat lights couldn't keep up with the temps and I had to change lights several times to get the temps back to my normal range. After they were cooled they both got very active. This was their first year at breeding weight, and it was suggested that they wanted to mate. I was offered an incubator and accepted (but did not receive it) so I put the animals together. They have been together 3 times, and the second two I found them locked in the mornings. My female was very hungry and I fed her a smaller meal then normal as I don't want her to have troubles with size. Now to the questions. 1) How will I know if the breeding took? 2) since I am not getting that incubator, what exactly do I need to buy to handle this clutch of eggs (with hope of up to 3 clutches in the future. 3) Should I keep putting the animals together? 4) Should I be worried about feeding her full size meals? 5) should I use normal temps in the tank? 6) do I need to prepare a special place for laying? 7) what area in the temp range should the laying box be placed in?
Thank you for any answers you can give. As you can tell, I went into this expecting a mentor, who has now disappeared on me.
