Arabesques, Albinos and a surprise

WmHoward Sep 04, 2007 07:47 PM

My arabesque het albino female (thanks Mr PK) was 128 days POS and I was worried, it was her first breeding and my Coral Albino male (thanks Tom and Amanda) that bred her was a little small, but got the job done. When I opened the drawer my first thought was "Mom looks ready to kill" but my second thought was "Where'd those reverse stripes come from?" This is my first arabesque litter, so I don't know if it's a common thing with this morph, but either way I'm thrilled! I haven't even looked at the albinos yet, I can't get over those stripes!

Let me know what you think, thanks to the breeders of the parents, and thanks for looking.

Bill

GRATS!

As for the stripes, that's what makes Arabesques dominant and not co-dominant. The first Arab X Arab breeding had babies like that, possibly the supers. But now more and more litters are popping up with the babies like yours. It is NOT common, but it does happen. Consider yourself a lucky guy!
