Glass cages are like ovens outdoors.....

Make sure the female is equal to or larger than the male in size, otherwise she won't be around for long....

Actually welded wire is far superior and stronger to a relentless lizard!

I use 19 gauge hardware cloth its a bit more but far stronger. You can even hang large timbers on it.

Thanx for the help guys,
but im planning to make an open roof enclosure, so if i use chicken wire the iguana can climb out, im planning on getting a larger female, and the climate in bali, is basically the same as the one in its natural habitat.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the climate like in Bali?
Will you need lots of supplimental heating?? Can it be used all year round? Will you need to add humidity to the enclosure?

An all glass enclosure will be very expensive, allow sunlight in from all sides (usually not a good idea), and be difficult to work with.

I have tinkered with all year round outdoor enclosures but I've found them tough to keep how I want. I live in new jersey, and seasons are drastically different. I can tell you, unless your building an enclosure that's insulated and well built it will cost a ton to heat if the weather gets cold.

If your climate is similar to that of an iguana then wire or something similar (like mentioned in other posts) will probably be your best bet. Maybe some wooden sides as well.

Keep a few things in mind.
1. It needs to be escape proof. (even through the bottom)
2. there has to be a shaded area so the reptile can escape from the sun.
3. it has to provide a temperature gradient and adequate humidity for the species your keeping

Those should be top priorties for the enclosure however you end up designing it.
