nias water

The animal in the photo that robin posted looks very similar to this animal - unfortunately not mine!! - although almost in february this year.

It passed through the hands of Sean (monitorman) before ending up in the midlands ... a beautiful animal nevertheless and with no info on its collection point - the shape of things to come perhaps?

Interesting discussion on trade Vs scientific names by the way.

While thats a very nice water, what makes it like the pic Robyn showed? I do not see any similarities. The one Robyn showed, has a few unusual characteristics, that I have seen in other monitors. The loss of pattern on the neck. The breaking up of the black across the body.

The one you showed appears the opposite. Its black is almost forming bands across the body.

Yours is very yellowish, the other is not. So, what makes them alike compared to other waters? Cheers

I thought it actually looked similar to the cross produced by reptile guru

yeah, i don't see any "Nias" style in that one, it looks more like the reptile guru uscb animals, and a very nice animal at that.
