TimS Sep 05, 2007 11:15 AM

any1 have any1 ideas why she has gotten darker day time colors since beeing with the male and now even months after and she is at normal temps etc etc?
here is her pic in day colros taken just a few min ago(her day color was NEVER this dark prior cooling/breeding

here is her night pic of her a few weeks back not long ago at all in her night colors she is still my pretty girl but odd she has gotten darker on me in the past few months maybe she will turn full black after next cooling/breeding lol

Tim,
...That white on the sides at night and then dark during the day is common with several subspecies of Rainbow Boas. It occurs at all ages and both sexes but is most common and pronounced in adult females. Some of them go through big color changes every night for months and then seem to have smaller color cahnges for awhile. When you see a gravid female lighten up a bunch it seems odd because in most species feamles are darker while gravid. These snakes are very interesting. Just another good reason to like Rainbow Boas.

i know they go thru a day night color change with alot of them but her day color is ALOT darker than it ever was since she was cooled and attempted to breed.

Only time will tell if it's a permanent change or just a temporary hormonal one. Since she was cooled and bred, even without babies, there has to be a series of hormonal changes and those could affect her color IMO.

Tim what do you plan on mating with your cinny, a black pastel to make some super cinny's? How about a pewter pastel and your cinnamon pastel to make me a silver bullet? Tim do you know this is the third time I've asked you this and it got erased TWICE so go figure. But they say the third time is the charm so let's see lol
