Help!!!

Hamster Aug 21, 2003 04:52 AM

I have a problem with a carpet. She is a juvenile, about 60cm long. I have been feeding her one pinkie rat once a week for about 3 weeks, before that she was on 1 fuzzy mouse a week. She has developed a loose fold of skin on either side of her neck. The loose skin starts where her neck starts to widen and join her head. It runs in a strait line down either side of her neck for maybe 2 inches. If she bends her neck the loose skin is only visible on one side (the direction her head is pointing). The rest of her body seems ok, she looks muscular and feels firm to touch. Has she just stretched the skin on her neck while feeding? What am I doing wrong? How do you tell if a snake has been overfed or underfed? Thanks for any help.

False allarm people, She shed this morning and it looks much better. You can still see a tiny bit of loose skin but is a dramatic improvement. I didn't even get to see her eyes change. I will keep a closer eye on her in future. Thank you.
