Blue beauty

donv Sep 06, 2007 06:07 PM

Crappy indoor pic at night. Not very representative of his color. Hopefully i can get a good outdoor pic this weekend. I have to wait for the right opportunity, namely when the neighbors aren't around.

I'm soon going to attempt a pic that hopefully allows me to get a measurement via serpwidget (or whatever its called). I suspect he's still growing at a decent pace based on the frequency of sheds. A guy once had a 12' male blue (along with a 10' female)on the classifieds for sale. There were no pics however and I emailed him for some and he never responded. I wonder... 8' hondurans have popped up compared to their average size of 3.5-5'. It seems 9' for a male blue is not uncommon, maybe at the high range of average. How big might that exceptional beauty get? What's the biggest one anyone's ever seen or heard of?

I once saw an 11 feet WC male Blue Beauty, but 9 feet is about average. The Blue Beauty propabely is the biggest of the Beautíes, but Taiwans and Yunnans get very close.

I used to think so too, but then I saw this pair of 10 foot Yunnans of a friend of mine. I was really amazed by these animals, as I never before pictured the Yunnan as one of the bigger Beauties. I don't know whether it is Yunnan Beauties getter longer then Cave Dwelling Beauties on average, or vise versa, but the Yunnan obviously has significantly more girth. So when size is interpreted as body mass, instead of length, then the Yunnan is the bigger snake.

Ok, never heard of Yunnans that big thats all. It would be cool to see one that size.

That's a really nice blue. One of the better colored ones I've seen.
