Enclosure Flooring

I'm removing the Kane heat mat from the melamine floor of my python enclosure to put down some heat tape on a dimmer. I was going to cover the heat tape top and bottom with a sheet of plastic to keep it insulated and clean. What type of plastic would be best to do this. I was going to use PVC but have been discoving that is releases harmful fumes. I'm now trying to narrow it down between polycarbonate, acrylic, acrylite, and HDPE. Should any of these not be used for a certain reason, or does one stand above the rest in chemical resistance /temp resistance / strength. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad

HDPE will hold up the best.

HDPE is what your Kane mat is encased with.
