Chameleon is very sick! Won't wake up!

nicesocks Sep 07, 2007 12:13 AM

We just got back from a 20 day vacation to find our chameleon very sick. She was well as of yesterday (the last time the pet-sitter checked on her) but today when we went to get her she was in her cage in a very awkward position and not really gripping anything.

She is breathing very slowly and her eyes are somewhat sunken. Apparently she has been active and eating during the time we were gone.

She was without proper lighting and possibly adequate heat although she was doing fine for most of her stay.

I've taken her home into her 'main' cage and turned the heat lamp on and doubled up the lighting. Is there anything else I can do?

All I can say is take her to a vet ASAP.

Sadly our chameleon died only a few hours after getting her back...
