This hatchling male was produced by a Vandeventer line male bred to a Memphis Zoo line (Steve Reichling)female. I have been very fortunate that this pair bred and produced the last two years. What was interesting is the first year the female produced 4 eggs all fertile at only two years of age. I co-habitate my pits once their 2 but didn't expect them to breed and produce fertile eggs. This year at 3 the female produced 7 eggs all fertile, all hatched. She produced a second clutch of 6 slugs. I'm thinking the temps later in the year may be the cause of the 2nd clutch being infertile as the pair were together the entire time.
