My new BRB

Howdy all.
WOW I am one happy fella after finally getting one of these lil' buggers after 10 or so years of ogling them. I always wanted to wait until I had a house & all that first. Picked her up at the recent Red Deer show here in Canada and I'm on cloud nine!

Thought I'd share a few pics now that I'm one of the Ecc club

Not the greatest pics and the last shot is blurry but captures a bit of that seemingly oh so hard to capture on film "Rainbow" effect. I'm so psyched!

Oh man getting a new snake is the best. Congrats on the acquisition she seems like a great snake and from what I could see has some really good crescents on her. I'm sure when she grows up she'll be even more of a looker

Thank you,

Yeah It's always so much fun to get something new for sure. Honestly no matter what she'll be a beauty to me regardless of how she turns out.
Thanks for the kind words.

Congrats on the new baby! That is one very pretty little snake. One requirement of being a member of the Ecc club though is that you must continue to post pictures! lol!

Have you picked out a name yet?

Haha thanks again.

Yeah the wife called her Jewel, as in she's now the Jewel of our collection. Plus we name all our snakes after singers so it works on both counts.

Yeah, the good news is the pocketbook won't allow me to get too crazy with these guys, at least not for a few years until we start producing some of our own.

Hey thanks for the nice welcome. I've lurked and read this forum for such a long time & envied so many of all of your beautiful BRB's. I'll definitely keep posting pics as she grows, and as I get more haha.

Thanks for the kind words.

Congrats on your new addition first off and secondly, welcome to the best forum KS has to offer Like Mike mentioned they are very addictive and if you need any help with husbandry just post some ?'s and they'll get answered. I'm sure when Dave (Rainbows-R-Us) comes back from the Anaheim Show he will post his husbandry and humidity posts for you. Best of luck to you and I have to know some of the other names of your snakes if they are named after singers.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. As for care I have that under control but definitely won't hesitate to put up any questions I may have. As I mentioned I've lurked a fair bit here over the years on this particular BRB board enjoying all the posts & pics and look forward to sharing more pics of my own in the future as well.

This has always been one of my favourites to visit anyways, so it'll be fun to have something on topic to share now.

Yeah and you have some OT stuff to share, we welcome it all here as you should already know!!!!

Hello my fellow Canadian,

I too just bought my first Braz.Rainbow Boa yesterday at the Reptile show out here in California. He is 5 weeks old. I didn't plan on it. But once I saw how beautiful he was, I had to have him. I also have a Rosy Boa. In fact we have 7 snakes in all.

So How do you like your BRB? Eating okay? Any advice or suggestions you can share with me? Good to see your post.
Look forward to chatting with you.

Take care Ah,
P4S

Hey thanks.

Well I wouldn't say I'm in any way qualified to start giving out advice, gimmie a few more days though ;P

Actually I've been fortunate, she's eaten really well so far, taken F/T hoppers once it gets dark. Hoppers are a bit on the smallish side for food but I like to work my various babies up & make sure they're eating and adjusted before pushing the food size envelope at all.

Really I've just been going extra hard reading back through posts I may have missed for husbandry tips. I'm out of town probably for the rest of the week though so I won't have much to share for a bit for pics etc.

Would love to see some of your new one though!
