I would highly recommend getting a manual/book on care for corn snakes as pets (Kathy Love's 'The Corn Snake Manual' is one of the better books out there AND its not very expensive). I would do this BEFORE you purchase any new snake. Otherwise, you'll have tons of questions you'll need answering once you get a corn snake...the book will help you to understand behaviors and whats needed in 'making them happy' in their artificial environment.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE STARTING OUT WITH CORNS (OR ANY SNAKES) KEEPING 2 TOGETHER IN THE SAME TANK! Its just NOT a good idea, for too many reasons to list here.
GOOD LUCK and PLEASE let us know if you have or get any corn snake books!
as a new snake owner I kept 2 in a 20G L... wasn't pretty but both survived unscatched.
two things that don't go together.
Only experienced herpers with proven eating animals and of known behavioral patterns should attempt to keep pairs together. Even then, if you absolutely don't have to, you shouldn't.
good luck
if for any reason you do have 2 snakes in one cage feed them in sperate tanks. ive never seen it happen but ive read if ones bigger than the other and they both go for the same mouse, neither will let go. they will keep swallowing each other

This topic is always talked about every other day... Its getting tiring...Do what Carl said and buy a corn snake book and read it first. Then if you have any other questions then ask them...And by the way no you should not house two corn snakes together...ELvy
we like every snake to have it's own enclosure..and 27 gal tank is too big for a baby.....
but if you feed them in a different container and they eat fine.....
go for it......

I would be careful in advising a beginner to keep corns together. Semi-experienced people can get away with it and have little or no problems; BUT for a novice...too many problems can arise. For instance, if the original person posting (which I am assuming may be a kid) keeps two corns together, I would not be surprised if this time next year they're posting ?'s about one of the corns not eating, or worse, laying eggs unexpectedly. Especially with the amount of questions he has already been posting...it would 'probably' be in their best interest to start off with just one snake and obtain more from there, rather than jumping the gun with more than one snake at once...Besides, its not like he won't be able to obtain more corns later on down the road. Keep in mind, this is all just my opinion based on observations & my personal experiences.
yes.........But most people get tired of snakes very quickly and sell or kill or give them away in a year.....
if they get eggs...they could be one of the 237 people that post on here then saying""Help quick I got eggs and didn't know what to do"....LOL
I did say if they both eat well when placed into a different tank or box it would help alot.......
............
I think of it this way........IF everyone breeds snakes and/or never killed them........who would we sell to????
.......they'll be ok.........
I know a guy (500 animals) and he keeps 3 girls per box..they do better than mine..........I think they like te comapny and te movement keeps them healthier........
have fun
good luck

I say no, too. Why take the risk? These corns were fresh out of the egg and hadn't even shed yet.
