Water Pythons

Chance Sep 08, 2007 08:59 AM

I can't for the life of me remember who used to post often about the fuscus he was breeding, but if that person sees this and is willing to respond, I'd very much like to talk to him. Actually, anyone who keeps or knows about fuscus is more than welcome to respond.

I'm picking up an adult pair to kind of 'up' my Aussie python collection, and would very much like to propagate this species. They seem very similar to the olive pythons I keep - though of course smaller - but I'd appreciate any differences in husbandry requirements - such as the name seems to suggest a higher humidity requirement than the more arid climate olives.

Chance,
I got a pair from Jasin Chapman, and they're awesome!

Like miniature olives, except faster, and mega-iridescent.

They also can/will poop on ya if you restrain them too much- let 'em glide! Haha!

I've got each of mine in a 15qt sterilite with aspen, using flexwat tape right around 90F or so.

Ambient room temp is around 78, and I have their Target dog bowl right over the heat where they kick it underneath pretty much day and night, unless I'm feeding or handling them.

They have a feeding response that rivals a kingsnake- they go absolutely BERSERK!

Shoot me an email direct if you need/want more info!
