nest boxes

whats best for hide/humid boxes after I breed? Right now I have papers towels with spagnum moss not enough hieght for digging. Wal-mart and home depot don't sell vermiculite anymoe as it causing cancer! or somethign liek that so would it be ok to use shredded spagnummoss and peatmoss or whats best?

Vermiculite also works ... though not sure if it works as well as perilite. All I know is that my cresties love it in their humid hide! I haven't had any problems with impaction either. You can find it at Home Depot or Walmart too.

vermiculite is what I was talking about not being sold at wal-mart and home depot anymore. People really use periliet in leo cages?

Sorry ... meant to say perilite. I'm not sure if leo owners use this but it works well for my crested geckos.

i used a product called Forest Bed that comes in block form for 5 bucks at Petco. It worked really well. Or you could try something like Bed-a-Beast.

I wouldnt use perlite in the humid hide. only use if you want after youved removed the eggs and are putting them in a incubator. geckos will eat it. Try contacting some local green hose/nurserys for vermiculite, ive always got it at home depot garden center, just recently actually. have to check on that one.
