it is not usually an issue during breeding.. but, you can always watch them while they are together...

Generally a full" snake wont eat!
also if spring is in the air and theyre ready they are horn-balls,i tried a young pair early this season and the attack occured immediatly! so never mind, break it up, maybe next year

I say just watch them.
When I put a pair of cali kings together this year the female attacked the male.
The male just took it.
And kept trying to breed.

I agree with the above posts. Feed well and keep an eye on the pair for a while after introducing them. It's pretty obvious if the pair or in breeding mode. I've never had it happen to me, but I have had friends lose Kings while breeding.

I had it happen once with albino Bananna Cal Kings and once with Graybands. Both times I was watching the snakes and prevented it from going further. In both cases I separated the pairs and fed them like double their normal meal and put them back together 2 days later and they bred fine. I would say definitly be around and check on them every 10 minutes or so for at least the first hour. After that you should be pretty safe(but nothing is garunteed) and don't leave them together for more than a day or two.
