I think this needs brought to the herp communities attention.
They're trying to make everyone get permits for pretty much anything that is not a dog or cat.

Texas is under fire by same radical elements. Do as many Open Records Request as necessary to find out who is behind such law proposals. Send copies of request to your state's attorney general and Chairman of Ethics Chairman. Check out state Ethics Commission Reports on political contributions and expenditures on each sponsor of this bill. Don't just write the bill sponsors; encourage each person to write their local representative otherwise bill sponsors ignore letters or calls that come in. Question motives, Rep. Harvey Hilderbran in Texas sponsored HB 12 to provide funding for Texas Parks & Wildlife to potentially gain personal favor to obtain the Director's position over this agency. Investigate every wildlife sanctuary in your state and demand that all mortality records for any animal held for more than 30 days be posted on their website to establish public records on their quality of care. Contact every Herp Club in the state and start the political process to removing these representatives from public office. None of your rights regarding responsible reptile ownership will be protected unless you seriously fight this issue. Contact www.hcu-tx.org as another resource.
