More new pictures...

waspinator421 Sep 09, 2007 07:08 PM

Finally got some good pictures taken of my new female Bellatrix, and some updated pictures of a couple other baby Thayeri.

This first one is Bellatrix, a super orange reduced pattern female from Maria Heidkamp.

Here is Ludo, a male MSP with a neat head pattern. Produced by Brad Alexander.

And this is Zoot, a pin-banded female.

Thanks for looking!!

Whoa, Aubrey! Those are some outstanding pictures of beautiful snakes. The focus is crisp and the lighting just right. Thank you for sharing.

BTW, how do you keep the subjects still long enough for those shots? Trying to get my hatchlings to stay still long enough is like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube!

Thank you for the compliments, Tom! I always cover the snake with a cup or a bowl, depending on the size of the animal. Wait a few minutes, get the camera ready, and get as many shots as I can before it realizes it is free and starts to move. Sometimes it will be good and just sit there for several minutes... probably because it is scared. It can take quite a bit of patience for some snakes, but it usually pays off.

Aubrey,

Zoot! Zoot! Very nice...by the way, where did you get the name of Zoot? Monty Python's Holy Grail comes to mind of bad, bad Zoot!!!! Ha! Ha! Unfortunately for brave Sir Robin, he rescued by Lancelot...bummer!!!!

The photos are very nice as well...clean and crisp.

What did you use for the blue background...that seemed to highlight their colors...

Later,
Jim.

Thank you Jim, and you got it right! Bad bad, naughty Zoot! LOL!

The background is just a lid from one of my larger bins. I really like how it works with both light and dark colored snakes, so it has become my main photo background.

Who art thou who can summon fire with niether flint nor tender....SOME call me..........tim. Ha! Ha!

Can't risk another frontal assault...that rabbit's dynamite! Ha! Ha!

My lord, doesn't brother Manard have the holy hand grenade of Anitoch? Ha! Ha! Man, I've got to watch that movie again...

"She turned me into a newt...well, I got better...."

That has to be one of my favorite lines in that movie!!

We demand... a shrubbery! But not to expensive, and a nice little path down the middle. A path! A path!

What is the airspeed velocity of an un-laden swallow?!

That is one great movie!

Aubrey,

No, thank you for making me laugh...

It was your naming of your new girl Zoot that started it...

That was just excellent...

Later,
Jim.
